Lessons Learned Last Year

1) I didn't write every day. This was a mistake.

2) I persistently self-edited. This year I'll take my glasses off before writing sessions.

1) That is useful advice - I had planned to try and write every day, but I didn't realise it would be a significant mistake not to.

2) Yes - I have this problem. You really do have to push on through and try to forget about what you have already written. Yes - what you have written may seem absolute ghastly and cringeworthy when you eventually re-read it - but no point letting that distract or dishearten you from progressing with other, hopefully increasingly well-written passages.

I agree SD, I a have to stop myself from wasting time re-reading what I already wrote.

Lessons Learned: I presume you didn't make it to 50,000 words. How close (or far) did you get?
