How's everyone doing?

I'm at 1869 words! How is everyone else doing? I'm going for over 2000
before the first day is over, which should hopefully give me something
of a head start. It was very slow going at first but now I feel I'm picking
up steam.

2272 words, I think I'm done for the day. 47728 to go! This is actually the most I've written in years.

I'm finding it a bit refreshing to have to write so quickly. It probably also helps keep the story from getting boring, as I'm not allowed to obsess immediately over every detail. The writing speed is closer to the final reading speed.

I'm going to need a new character tomorrow, hopefully one will come to me in my sleep! Ganbatte yo minna-san! (work hard everybody!)

I'm up to 2345. I'm afraid its getting too autobiographical, but I can't see any way to avoid that while keeping pace at the same time.

way to go antihcl!
I am still stuck with refining the plot. I should be done with that by midnight. Then I will sketch the major outlines of the protagonist and one other character, maybe two. Should start effectively laying it down right after.

Plots? Characters? I have to say I only have a general sense in my head of where I want to end up. But as to how I get there and who I have to climb over, I have no idea. Hope I don't get lost in the morass.

Me being me, I am positively and absolutely confident that if I do not lay down the key aspects of my story in advance, this is what will happen:
1- i will forget half the characters by the end of the chapter following the one where they were first introduced.
2- the story will be one third sci-fi, one third romance, and one third yet to be defined.
3- The thing will grow into epic dimensions and it will require several generations of me to complete.
4- multi-disciplinary scientific commitees will have to work for several years to decode and understand the plot.
